
The government has decided to start a countrywide crackdown of the joint forces "Operation Devil Hunt" from today to bring culprits to book and maintain law and order.
The decision was taken on Friday night in a joint meeting of the law enforcement agencies following Friday terror attack on the student-people in Gazipur district.
"The operation is set to start in Gazipur and elsewhere across the country from today," said a press release of the Home Ministry.
Some people were critically injured by the terrorists of the fallen fascists (in Gazipur) on Friday night, it said.
Home Adviser Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury this morning vowed to take stern action against those involved in the heinous attack on the student-people in Gazipur district while visiting the injured students at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) here.
"None involved in the attack on the student-people (in Gazipur), will not be spared. We are taking legal action against them. All responsible for the attack have been exposed to justice," he said.

Law Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul today expressed the hope that all stakeholders of July uprising would speed up process to announce the July Proclamation.
BNP has prepared a declaration and if it is finalised again based on the opinions of their alliance partners, they will sit with the student leaders, he said.
“However, in this regard, I want to say that our student leaders are showing enough restraint, patience and tolerance. I hope that all those who are party to the July mass uprising, will try to speed up this process a bit,” Asif Nazrul told a press briefing here.
“This is a document of our unity. This is not a legal document, it is a political document. It is to reassert our unity, nothing more than that,” he said.
The press briefing was held at the Foreign Service Academy here evening, highlighting the key recommendations of the six reform commissions.
Chief Adviser Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam and Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder were also present at the briefing.

The Police Headquarters in a statement tonight said they are set to reinstate the dismissed policemen, who won at the Appeal Tribunal.
"Arrangements are being made at the Police Headquarters to reinstate those, who won at the Appeal Tribunal," it said.
Those who did not file the departmental appeal against the dismissal or removal orders could not be considered for reinstatement due to legal obstacles, it said.
Those who have criminal cases against them for moral turpitude, financial corruption and other charges could not be considered, it also said.
During the previous government tenure, 1,522 applications for reinstatement of dismissed police personnel for various reasons were received at the Police Headquarters.

The government has published the full reports of the six reform commissions.
The full reports of the Electoral Reform Commission, Police Reform Commission, Judiciary Reform Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission Reform Commission, Public Administration Reform Commission, and Constitutional Reform Commission (Part One) were published on the website of the Cabinet Division (https://cabinet.gov.bd/) on Saturday.
A press conference is being held at the Foreign Service Academy to discuss the urgent issues recommended by these commissions.
Earlier, the reports of the Constitutional Reform Commission, Electoral Reform Commission, Police Administration Reform Commission, and Anti-Corruption Commission Reform Commission were submitted on January 15.
