Hasina unveils AL election manifesto, pledging to build smart Bangladesh

Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina today announced her party polls manifesto for 2024 general election, vowing to build a developed, prosperous and Smart Bangladesh by 2041.
"Bangladesh will be established as a high-middle-income country by 2031 and a developed, prosperous, smart one by 2041 by the Bangladesh Awami League, the bearer of the spirit of the Liberation War, if the people once again allow us to serve them by voting for the Boat, the AL electoral symbol," she said.
The AL chief said if the people of the country vote for the AL, her party will give them development, peace, and prosperity.

Boma Maulana supplies 400 bombs in city: DB

Detective Branch (DB) chief Mohammad Harun or Rashid today said Mukit alias Boma Maulana supplied around 400 bombs in the city different areas since October 27 this year.

Striking force will help improve election environment: EC Secy

Additional Secretary of Election Commission (EC) Secretariat Ashok Kumar Debnath today said that the overall election environment and situation will develop further if the striking force comes to the field.
He said this while talking to the journalists at his office in the EC building at Agargaon in the capital.
He said that till now 250 people have been given show-cause notices by the Election Investigation Committee for violating the code of conduct.

No specific threat over national election: DMP Commissioner

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman on Monday said there is no specific threat of sabotage acts during the upcoming 12th Parliamentary Election.
“Casting vote is a democratic right of people and refraining from casting vote is also a democratic right. But obstructing voting is not a democratic right and it is the part of a constitutional responsibility of citizens to resist those involved in preventing people from balloting,” he said.
