Travel ban issued on former Narayanganj mayor Ivy

A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy, former Mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation, in connection with an ongoing corruption investigation. The order was issued on Wednesday by the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Court.
The court acted on an application filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Deputy Director Mohammad Neyamul Ahsan Ghazi. The ACC submission detailed allegations against Ivy, including abuse of power, financial misappropriation, and corruption involving irregularities carried out in her name and those of her family members.
The ACC argued that the travel ban was necessary to ensure a fair investigation, citing credible concerns that Ivy might attempt to flee the country.
