
SANGSAD BHABAN, Sept 13, 2023 (BSS) - Cyber Security Bill, 2023 passed today
in the Jatiya Sangsad in an amended form amid huge reaction of the opposition
in the parliament as the law will hamper the freedom of speech which is
guided by the constitution of the country.
State Minister for Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed
Palak moved the bill which was unanimously passed by voice votes in the House
with Deputy Speaker Shamsul Huq Tuku in the chair.

Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury today said an individual cannot own more than 60 bighas of agricultural land as per the Land Reform Act-2023. "If inherited land exceeds 60 bighas, the heir can choose to retain 60 bighas of land, while the remaining land will become government-owned (Khas) and compensation will be provided according to government regulations," he made the comments at a press conference held at his ministry, an official release said. The press conference was held as the three land-related bills passed by the Jatiya Sangsad yesterday (Tuesday).

The Executive Committee of the National Economic
Council (ECNEC) today approved a Taka 4,282.76 crore project to ensure
expansion and modernization of the facilities at Mongla Port in Bagerhat.
The approval came from a meeting of the ECNEC held with its Chairperson and
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at the NEC Conference Room in the
city Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan said a
total of 19 projects were approved today involving an overall estimated cost
of Taka 18,066.52 crore. "Of the total project cost, Taka 12,060.19 crore
will come from the government of Bangladesh portion, Taka 450.72 crore from
the concerned organisation own fund while the rest of Taka 5,555.61 crore
as project assistance," he added.

Justice Obaidul Hassan will act as Chief Justice from September 11 to September 18, until the current Chief Justice takes over the duty again.
According to a press release of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique went to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah Hajj.
