
Indonesian ambassador Heru Hartanto Subolo ensures Bangladeshi business communities to increase the Bangladeshi product import volume in Indonesia shortly.
He made this remark in a discussion meeting with the Board of Directors and the Key Officers of International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) about exploring bilateral business relationship with Bangladesh and Indonesia. The meeting was held at IBFB Conference Hall recently.
Ambassador Heru Hartanto Subolo told in his speech that he is here in Bangladesh for almost two years and he found many similarities between two countries i.e. both are Muslim countries, food and cultural similarities are also there. But there is also challenges, not many Indonesians know about Bangladesh and not many Bangladeshis know about Indonesia.
He is trying to promote Bangladesh in Indonesia, a press release said on Thursday.

Army deployment began today in 62 districts to
ensure peaceful holding of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) elections slated for
January 7 as the deployment will continue till January 10, said an official
release.
A release issued by the Defence Ministry stated that the armed forces members
will perform duties jointly with the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) in the 47
bordering upazilas.
Apart from their sole deployment in 45 upazilas, the BGB members will also be
accompanied by the Coast Guards in four coastal upazilas.

The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a gazette notification declaring a general holiday on the day of the 12th parliamentary election.
A gazette notification, signed by Sonia Hassan, deputy secretary of the ministry, was issued in this regard on Wednesday.
At the request of the Election Commission, all public, semi-public, autonomous and private offices, institutions and organisations will be closed to allow all employees to exercise their voting rights across the country, the notice said.

Country export earnings during the first half
(July-December) period of the current fiscal year (FY24) totaled $27,540.37
million with a 0.84 percent growth.
According to the latest statistics of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB),
country export earnings during the July-December period of the last fiscal
year (FY23) totaled $27,311.26 million.
The EPB figures, however, showed that the single-month export earnings in
December witnessed a fall of 1.06 percent bagging $5,308.09 million.
